Look for Spider-Man’s new costume to debut in March 2021’s Amazing Spider-Man #61 and 62. The full announcement of the new suit from Marvel can be found below. That suit lasted the longest, with most other replacement Spider-suits only hanging around for a year or so before Spidey returns to his traditional, highly-marketable Steve Ditko-designed red-and-blue suit. The most notable replacement suit was the black-and-white number that was originally a symbiote (which went on to bond with Eddie Brock and form Venom) and that he later wore a cloth version of. Spider-Man’s had numerous suits over the course of his nearly sixty-year career. In a statement accompanying the suit review, Weaver says it was designed in collaboration with ASM writer Nick Spencer and editor Nick Lowe.

The new suit is a far cry from anything Spider-Man has ever worn before, with more tech elements than even the mid-’00s Iron Spider suit. Spidey’s new mask features glowing orange eyes, and orange piping adorns the rest of the suit as well, including the large spider on his chest.

Gone is the iconic red-and-blue color scheme Spidey is known for, replaced with a predominantly blue and gray body suit, with white gauntlet/webshooters, kneepads, and toe shoes, white accents on the chest, and a white-and-gray mask. The covers for Amazing Spider-Man #62 (available in March 2021) and #63 (out in April 2021) are both by artist Dustin Weaver, who also designed the wallcrawler’s new costume. Now the publisher has offered fans an early New Year’s present (that’s a thing, right?) with a look at two covers featuring Spidey in his new duds. In their solicits for March 2021 titles, Marvel teased that Spider-Man would be receiving a new costume, though they did not reveal the suit outright.
